Breath : Interpretation Challenge and Video shoots.

Hello readers!

Here is my blog on Samuel Buckett's Shortest Play "Breath". This task is given by Dilip Barad sir. If you want to know, Click here to know more about blogs.

There is an Interpretation of Shortest Play by Samuel Buckett's. Giving Interpretation of Shortest Play is thirty seconds only. Martin Esslin first gave the term 'Theatre of the Absurd.' He was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1969. Few of his notable works are Waiting for Godot, Endgame, Happy Days and others.

If we look at the script of the play, it is as follows.

CURTAIN Up

1. Faint light on stage littered with miscellaneous rubbish. Hold about five seconds.

2. Faint brief cry and immediate inspiration and slow increase of light together reaching maximum - together in about ten seconds. Silence and hold for about five seconds.

3. Expiration and slow decrease of light together reach minimum together (light as in 1) in about ten seconds and immediately cry as before. Silence and hold about five seconds.

CURTAIN Down

# Interpretation of the Play

If we look at play and interpretation it can be shown that it is absurd and meaningless. Samuel Beckett is associated with Theatre of Absurd, his another play, "Waiting for Godot" is also an absurd play.

The interpretation of the play is very much significant. It shows life. Birth and Death both binary which show absurdity. There is one blue bowel like thing in which the first light is a little bit through then it suddenly goes off and then it breaks down. It symbolizes the human life or their thoughts they have first hope then slowly it goes down and ultimately it will be broken down by society.

# Picturization of the play

The script of the play is very short but I try to interpret and try to shoot very short videos for dramatizing purposes. In this video I have used crying and breath. Video opens with birth and with interrogation of death.
