         Literature in comparison to                                    other ages

 Renaissance literature:
           The English Renaissance was a cultural and artistic movement in England dating from the late 15th to th early 17th century. It is associated with the pan- European Renaissance that is usually regarded as beginning in Italy in late 14th century . The Elizabethan era in the second half of the 16th century usually regarded as  the height of English Renaissance.

Renaissance period divided into four part:
1.  The Elizabethan age (1558-1603)
2.  The Jacobean age (1603-1625)
3.  The Caroline age (1625-1649)
4.  The Commonwealth age (1649-             1660).

Characteristics of The Elizabethan Era in comparison to victorian age:

#  The Elizabethan Era was during the pan - European Renaissance,which was before the Victorian era.

#  During  The Elizabethan Era prise fiction was non existent fiction meant poetry or drama. It was the Victorian and the introduction of the printing press that introduced novel as a medium.

#  The Victorian era believed that literature has to instruct society. Victorian novel wasn't as open ended as Elizabethan poetry or drama , ther was a pretty clear massage in every story.

# The Victorian shied away from 'supernatural' elements. The Elizabethan no trouble with fantasy in stories like Faust ,a magicians actually summons the devil.

# English spoken in both era but were more likely to pick up a look that was actually published in the Victorian era many Shakespearean books to day will have modern English of the Elizabethan age .

# The Elizabethan was from 1558-1603 and Victorian was from 1857 -1901. The representation of the people act was passed in the UK allowing women over the age of 30  who met a property qualification to vote.

# The Elizabethan Era the education of women depended on which class they belongs to Victorian women also typically stayed at home. Education art in 1870-1878 required  compulsory  education for girls .

# The Elizabethan women learned languages which included Latin, Italian, Greek and French . Music and dance skills were also taught, In the Victorian  women were typically taught singing, piano, playing. Skill learn were in with their domestic role.

#  Getting married was considered very important for a women during the Elizabethan Era . Victorian women were also treated as inferior to men and were deprived of education.

Edmund Spenser:
             Edmund Spenser (1552/1553-13 January 1599) was an english poet best known for the faerie queene an epic poem and fantastical allegory celebrating the Tudor dynasty and Elizabethan-1. He is recognised as one of the premier craftment of naacena moder English verse.

Life :
 Edmund Spenser born in east Smithfield, London around the year 1552, thought there is still some ambiguity as to the exact date of his birth . His parenthood is obscure, but he was probably the son of John Spencer, a journeyman,clothmaker. He was educated in London the merchant Taylor's school.

Thinking Activity : The Da Vinci code Introduction : The Da Vinci Code is a 2003 mystery-detective fiction novel written by American author Dan Brown.
