Deconstruction reading of Sonnet 18

Here is my blog on Deconstruction reading of Sonnet 18. This blog is given by Dilip Barad sir. So, here sir using TED Ed's a(click here to read Dilip Barad sir's blog)through TED Education came to know that how deconstruction easily understand in the poem.

Introduction :

Deconstruction, a form of philosophical and literary analysis, derived mainly from work begun in the 1960s by the French philosopher Jacques Derrida, that questions the fundamental conceptual distinctions, or “oppositions,” in Western philosophy through a close examination of the language and logic of philosophical and literary texts.

Deconstruction :

"Deconstruction is an approach to          understanding the relationship between text and meaning. It was originated by the philosopher Jacques Derrida (1930–2004)."

"Deconstruction perceives that language, especially ideal concepts such as truth and justice, is irreducibly complex, unstable, or impossible to determine."

When it came to Deconstruction in Philosophy. So, the oppositions were challenged by deconstruction, which has been inherent in Western philosophy since the time of the ancient Greeks. So there are characteristically “binary” and “hierarchical,” involved in a Deconstruction. Examples include nature and culture, speech and writing, mind and body, presence and absence, inside and outside, literal and metaphorical etc.

So here we do deconstruction in the poem "I shall compare thee to a Summer's Day". So here used nature for deconstruction in the poem.

Deconstruction bears within itself the necessity of its own critique. Deconstruction ideas revolve around free play or undecidability of meaning and binary opposition - hegemony and subject.

In the Shakespearean poem "I shall compare thee to a Summer's Day" word thee in the very first line of the poem that gives binary comparison between beloved and summer's day. Through the binary comparison poem represents human beings through beloved and nature through summer's day. So, here human beings are the center and nature is the periphery of the whole poem.

In the poem lines suggest writing or poem or Sonnet. This poem is also given a life [ I ]."I" and "poem" and "lover ".

Conclusion :

So, here the poem concludes that deconstruction gives understanding of the relationship between the text and meaning of the poem . So here is a poem about nature and summer's day. So we can understand the poem through the binary of the poem.
