Rivers and Tides: Documentary

 Rivers and Tides: Documentary

Hello readers!

Here is my blog on one documentary Rivers and Tides. This task is given by Dilip Barad sir as Sunday reading task.

"River and Tides: Andy Goldsworthy Working with Time" is a 2001 documentary film directed by Thomas Riedelsheimer about the British artist Andy GoldsworthyWorking With Time is the most spiritually literate documentary. Who creates intricate and ephemeral sculptures from natural materials such as rocks, leaves, flowers and icicles.

This spiritual documentary won the Golden Gate Award Grand Prize for Best Documentary at the 2003 San Francisco International Film Festival.

It is a wonderful documentary about the nature and art. In this documentary, he defines every art with philosophical point of view. As he says that, "Art for me is a form of nourishment".

Spiral shape :

Above pictures speak about the spiral shape of nature. In the natural world everything is in spiral or circular shape. There is no triangular shape. It is like a wave of river as well as a wave of life also.

In the documentary at 5:5 min this picture is shown when a wonderful sound comes up. There is one sound of Hen which indicates an early morning time. So it is also set up with time that early morning is the time of work for rural people.

Background music :

In the documentary behind this picture I found a very spiritual artistic music in the background at 5:23 and ended at 10:58 min. Which is also very spiritual to listen to music.

Ice Design :

All the spices of ices touch together is very difficult. He never thought that it couldn't be possible that why he made it again with passion and made it deliberately that he wants. He knows that ice melts within time but they pass out within a few hours but we have to do what we want for that he says that,

" Understand the motion and the meeting of the river and sea "

Wooden Design :

He made a different kind of pyramid or a design with wood near the river. Those things we have to think about that take it into another time and take it into another word.

Stone design or pyramid :

He begins to work on an icicle sculpture and after much effort and hard work he is able to give a tide shape to the ice. But it seems temporary, it will be melted with the passage of time. And also make a pyramid of stone which also breaks down in the river.

" Weakness of stone is combination of two"

Design of plants :

This design is made by stick of plants there is contact between plants, this plant never grows again. It seems that once time is gone it will never come again and again.

" If I can see in enough understand of that thinking happens in our life that changes our life"

Shadow design :

Once rain came he made his shadow on the ground with help of rain but it came more than before than it also went. Exactly what our life is like.

Stick design :

He is fascinated with those things that come with nature. He made Design with a stick . It is very difficult to do but in our life everything is difficult to do. We have to make it easy with another try.

Balance :

"Sense of moment is very important to understand how to do things"

Wall design :

Here we can see how he represents the processes of life and death through nature.

"The very thing that brought it to life, will bring about death”

          Thank you…..
