Thinking Activity : A Tempest by Aime Cesaire.

Hello readers!

Here is my blog on A Tempest by Aime Cesaire.

A Tempest by Aime Cesaire rewrites the idea of colonialism as presented in Shakespeare’s ‘The Tempest’. He is successful at this attempt by changing the point of view of the story. He made some changes in this play and told the outcome to deal with it. In the way of this play, we are going to discuss Cultural conflict, discourse in characters and constriction of this play.

# Imperialism and the “White Savior” Complex in “A Tempest” :

Imperialism means how certain policies are supported. It is all about attitude.

In this play's opening scene, Prospero finds comfort in his books and instruments, clear signs of European civilization or whiteness, Prospero able to do everything that he wants. But Caliban is not able to resist. Caliban because of his darker skin suggesting his never-readiness to enter the world of Prospero and his preference of violence.

# Language of imperial attitude :

How important language is to colonize structure. Orientalism encourages indian languages.

For example - English language, it is confidential to look at language. One major trend of language by Nachole. English education by Nachole that creates the English language. Nachole thinks/ says that teach some new things. Rajaram Mohan Roy wrote letters so the Idea of language is very crucial.

Caliban says that language is very cursing. Shakespeare's play lacks cannibalism Language or ability of Caliban to resist language.

# Calabian nation:

  Who is rebel?

Camus defines that group of people. Rebel is a person who has a huge public version. Good rebel is a person who is able to collect ideas.

Characterization of Camus' novel.

  1. Rebel

  2. Discourse

  3. Ability to die for course.

# Idea of Jew :

Jew is hated, they continue in the nature of superiority.

So, here we can raised questions

  1. How does one construct black consciousness?

  2. How does black stereotypes creator?

  3. How do you interpret black and white people?

Fanon said that psychoanalytical interpretation of what is the experience of black man. Psychoanalytical interpretation of Negros people.

Black is easier with colonists because they are treated that way.

Fanon says about binary ideas.

Good-  Evil

White - Black

Beauty - Ugliness.

At the end of the text, Fanon says...

" Social revolution can not draw it's poetry from the past but only from the future. It can not vegan itself but it treat itself with all his superstition regarding past"

Thank you!
