In this video he talks about the effect of new technologies on English. Technology always influences language. In the 19th century telephone arrived. people don't know what to do with the telephone. Telephones were going to be the biggest disaster in society. So new technology sometimes becomes a disaster also.

Wide web - 19991

Google - 1990

Email - 2000s

Text message - 2000s

Instant message - 2000s

Blogging - 1997

Blogged - 2003
